Objection. The massing of the back buildings (D in the drawings) appears out of scale and overbearing. In particular there is no justification for the loss of the rear building facing Rivington Place (E in the drawings), which falls within the curtilage of the listed building and is an important remnant of the historic character of the area.

Objection. The SCAAC would like more detail as to the design and materials. There are numerous errors throughout, eg 2.3 of the Planning Statement which refers to no. 36 The Rectory as 'identified by Islington as a building of local townscape merit.' The existing west elevation depicts two separate ground floor businesses whereas in actuality there is just one. The plans need further formulation, eg 6.39 of the Planning Statement states the two extraction chimneys 'would be retained or replaced' - which will it be?
