Not in our (or any) Conservation Area – though the proposal does improve the streetscape.
2021/0138 10 Clapton Square, E5 8HP Proposed redevelopment of an existing 5 storey Georgian terrace House, with a change of use at basement and the rear ground floor from Light Industrial (B1C use class) to residential use. Internal reconfiguration to form two 3-bed residential units and associated internal alterations. Demolition of the existing rear single storey commercial link building at ground floor level. Listed Building Consent (Danny Huber)
Clapton CAAC has no objection but notes the absence of a proposed front elevation drawing. Original internal features – woodwork and plaster – should be retained and the entrance hall restored to remove the sub-dividing door.

Clapton CAAC has no objection but urges strict supervision of the restoration of this Grade II listed terrace. Newlon Housing Association’s other applications this year have been for replacement of wooden sashes with uPVC.
2022/0145 359 - 363 Mare Street, E8 1HY Temporary decorative scaffold shroud screen advertisement for a period of 8 months Advertisement Consent (Micheal Garvey)
Clapton CAAC objects to this application on the grounds that the screens with changing advertisements would seriously harm the setting of the Grade I listed St Augustine’s Tower and the Grade II listed Old Town Hall.
2022/0415 260 Dalston Lane, E8 1JG Replacement of all existing timber glazed sliding sash windows with new timber double glazed white sliding sash windows to Flats A and B 260 Dalston Lane, London, E8 1JG Full Planning Permission (Jonathan Bainbridge)
Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.
2022/0173 78 Amhurst Road, E8 1JH Subdivision of existing dwellinghouse (C3) into two self-contained residential units (C3) (2 x 3 bedroom units) together with the construction of a mansard roof in the front roofslope and a roof extension in the rear roof slope as well as the erection of rear extension. Finally, the proposal will undertake landscaping works and alterations to the boundary wall. Full Planning Permission (James Clark)
Clapton CAAC objects to this application. The loft extension is overbearing. There will be loss of privacy in the gardens of houses on Dalston Lane.
2021/1823 10 Brett Road, E8 1JP Erection of a two-storey roof extension incorporating a mansard style roof to 10 & 12 Brett Road, to facilitate creation of 2 x 1 bed flats (Use Class C3) Full Planning Permission (Danny Huber)
Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.
2022/0271 14 Sutton Place, E9 6EH Replacement of window with door in rear elevation at lower ground floor level. Householder Planning (Alix Hauser)
Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.
2021/3721 63 Forburg Road, N16 6HR Erection of single storey ground floor rear extensions with sukkah rooflights to both properties Full Planning Permission (Raymond Okot)
Clapton CAAC objects to this application. The proposed rear extension, while very much a standard wall-to-wall structure, creates a small dark enclosed area between it and the host building.
2022/0603 3 Stamford Grove West, N16 6LJ Demolition of existing garages and erection of new 1-storey dwelling unit to provide a 1-bed flat (Class C3) and associated landscaping alterations Listed Building Consent (Gerard Livett)
Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.
2022/0561 3 Stamford Grove West, N16 6LJ Demolition of existing garages and erection of new 1-storey dwelling unit to provide a 1-bed flat (Class C3) and associated landscaping alterations Full Planning Permission (Gerard Livett)
Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.
2022/0424 Flat A, 121 Osbaldeston Road, N16 6ND Erection of outbuilding in rear garden Full Planning Permission (Raymond Okot)
Clapton CAAC objects to this application. The measured drawings do not show what proportion of the garden will be lost nor is marked the position of the trees which the owner is required to plant following the permitted clearance of trees from the garden. The dimensions shown on the drawings do not match the dimensions given in the D&A Statement.
2021/3651 101 Osbaldeston Road, N16 6NP Erection of rear dormer roof extension. Householder Planning [Application Granted - Extra Conditions] (Erin Glancy)
2021/0271 The Bais Rochel Dsatmar Charitable Trust, 17 Rookwood Road, N16 6SP Change of use of single-storey outbuilding from ancillary offices to use as IT room and library (Use Class D1); retrospective installation of two air conditioning units on roof of outbuilding. Full Planning Permission [Application Refuse] (Gerard Livett)
2022/0276 131 Brooke Road, N16 7RP Proposed rear loft conversion with inset dormer over the main roof including 2 new conservation style skylights on the front. and the reinstating of the bay window roof to match the neighbouring properties. Householder Planning (Jonathan Bainbridge)
Clapton CAAC objects to this application. The loft extension is overbearing in size while the very large sheet of uninterrupted glass suggests a fish-tank perched on the rear slope.
2022/0496 31 Jenner Road, N16 7SB Submission of details pursuant to conditions 3 (external materials), 4 (SuDs), 6 (refuse and recycling) and 7 (bicycle storage) of planning permission 2021/2444 granted 04/10/2021 for the erection of a part single part three-storey rear extension to provide two additional bedsits and a communal bathroom and lounge. Discharge of Condition (Erin Glancy)
Clapton CAAC opposes this application. The erection of a platform behind the front wall to hold the increased number of bins will result in the shading of the basement rooms. There are already four very large bins – much larger than the size recently distributed by the Council – beside the front door. We question how, even in an HMO, provision for a combined total of 1,800 litres (3x240 l. + 3x360 l.) of waste can be justified, particularly in the light of the Council’s drive for greater recycling.
