We object to the proposed second floor level above the existing central building. A considerable amount of care has been taken with the design and finish of the neighbouring buildings forming the De Beauvoir Block. This addition, with enclosed plant and lift overrun, negatively impacts on the east elevation and forms a cluttered roofscape behind the saw toothed roof of the east building . We have no objection to the change of use or to the demolition of the single storey element at the rear to form a courtyard.

We strongly object to this application. We are disappointed by the loss of the two storey building which is part of the mixed residential/industrial heritage of the area. The proposed building lacks architectural merit and the attempt to match the dimensions and proportions of the fenestration to that of the adjacent Victorian housing just does not work.

We are concerned about the proposed railings between the entrances to the café and the museum. From the drawings they appear to be of a different style to the existing railings. We should like to see more detail.

We have no objection to this application in principle. However we have concerns regarding the vertical polycarbonate cladding to the link building. We should like to see a more sympathetic material.

We object to this application. It provides additional street clutter and will restrict sightlines for cyclists and pedestrians.

We object to this application. In order to make a very large extension more acceptable the applicant is proposing to sink the building by 1.35m. This amount of excavation would be unacceptable on hydrological grounds alone. The proposed lower ground floor extension is double the footprint of the existing extension at that level and this does not follow the recommendations of the De Beauvoir Design Guide. The proposal will impact severely on the adjacent properties.

We strongly object to this application. The proposed style of fenestration and height of the balcony railings do not match those of the adjacent properties. This will be detrimental to the streetscene facing the Conservation Area.

We object to this application. This is a prominent corner site and the use of garage doors to enclose a habitable room, namely a study, is inappropriate. The proposed timber trellis is equally inappropriate and unattractive. Application granted before submission of comments.

We have no objection to this application but once again raise concerns about smoke from the wood burning stove wafting into the surrounding properties.

We have no objection to this application other than concerns relating to potential noise and disruption during later hours in a residential area. We would expect to see that the rules and regulations for the operational management of the site are strongly adhered to.
