Stoke Newington CAAC March 2018
Planning Applications for Stoke Newington CAAC Monday 12 March 2018
2018/0172 St Mary's Church Stoke Newington Church Street N16 9ES Extension and alteration of existing church rooms including enclosure of internal courtyard garden and introduction of new, raised multipitch roof, single storey extension adjoining new vestry, and introduction of additional door to south elevation of main church building, and associated external works including repositioning of fountain, provision of on site bicycle parking and disabled car parking and hard and soft landscaping (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)
We are broadly supportive of the functional aim of expanding the facilities, and we recognise the problems with the current community hall. However we also share the concerns of HSPG and echo their submission of 12 March 2018.
2018/0481 87 Queen Elizabeths Walk N16 5UG Erection of two new windows on the side elevation; and three new rooflights, one on the front elevation, and one on each side elevation; and new windows and doors on the rear elevation. (Simon Chitre 020 8356 1445)
Insofar as we limit our observations to the LPA's development description (which differs substantially to the applicant's own documents) we have no objection.
2018/0478 87 Queen Elizabeths Walk N16 5UG Proposed erection of a loft conversion and a rear ground floor extension (Simon Chitre 020 8356 1445)
2018/0711 Land to rear of 65 - 67 Lordship Road Avigor Mews N16 0QJ Non-material amendment to planning permission 2015/1893 dated 15/11/2017. Effect of amendment would be to increase basement floor area; provide changes to fenestration to classrooms in south elevation and relocation of residential cycle store. (Gerard Livett 020 8356 8398)
We are concerned that the poor quality of the sub-basement accommodation will give rise to future amendmendment or applications to make the floor more habitable, but which will have a negative impact on the conservation area. We would rather such issues are addressed in this application before the sub basement is built, and they become difficult to refuse.
2018/0253 Flat B 37 Lordship Park N16 5UN Erection of extension to single storey ground floor rear extension. (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)
We have little faith that the applicant has properly described the proposal as the site description is wholly incorrect in respect of the property's age and materials; the drawings are crude and do not allow us to properly consider the proposal.
2017/3368 180 Stoke Newington Church Street N16 0JL Installation of ATM at shopfront (Stuart Hammond 020 8356 6739)
We have no objection to the proposals, provided the ATM contains no internal illumination (other than the functional screen).
2017/4927 Flat C 163 Stoke Newington Church Street N16 0UL Removal of existing butterfly roof to allow for proposed new roof extension (Jeni Cowan 020 8356 1371)
We do not object to this modest roof extension in principle, however the drawings lack detail, in particular relating to removal of rainwater and the junction of the parapet and roof. These details must be reserved by condition and consulted upon if they have an effect on the visual appearance of the proposal.
2018/0428 Flat A 217 Stoke Newington High Street N16 0LH The erection of a single storey flat-roofed extension at second floor level. (Patrick O'Connor 020 8356 8293)
We object to the mass and scale of the extension in particular because of its high visibility and harm to the setting of the listed gates and Lodge of Abney Park Cemetery.
2018/0295 Rear of 49 Stoke Newington Church Street N16 0AR Erection of two storey dwellinghouse over lower ground floor and upper ground floor levels, and demolition of existing outbuildings on the site. For the purposes of consultation only, the proposal would result in the provision of a one bedroom, two person unit (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)
We have no objection to the proposals.
