Stoke Newington CAAC June 2016

Planning Applications for Stoke Newington CAAC Monday 13 June 2016

51, Stoke Newington Church St, N16 (Rear extensions and roof extension) – 2016/1272 (James Carleton)

We have no objection to the proposals, but make the following comments:

  • We note that the proposed roof extension is in an unbroken terrace.

283, Stoke Newington Church St, N16 (Single-storey rear/side extension) – 2016/1435 (Louise Smith)

We have no objections to the proposals, but make the following comment:

  • Materials should match the existing.

Three Crowns 175, Stoke Newington High Street, N16 (Temporary decorative scaffold shroud) – 2016/1423 (Simon Robert)

We have no objections to the proposal.

Woodberry Down – Early Years Centre (Remodelling and extensions) – 2016/1679 and 1697 (Jonathan Payne)

We have no objections to the proposals, but make the following observations:

  • We would like to see detailed elevations of the new extensions, including details of the windows, as it is in the context of a Grade II listed building.
  • Apart from this, the scale and massing are acceptable.

107-111, Stoke Newington Church St N16 (Change of use to HMO) – 2015/3543 and 2016/3619 (Louise Smith)

We object to the proposals for the following reason:

  • We believe that the application is invalid because of the lack of a Heritage Assessment.
  • We are also concerned about the proposed removal of a staircase.

Castle Climbing Centre, Green Lanes, N4 (External and internal repairs and alterations) - 2016/1617 and 1627 (Nick Bovaird)

We have no objections to the proposals.

Wilmer Place, N16 (Roof terraces at 2nd floor level) – 2016/1501 (Nick Bovaird)

We have no objections to the proposals, but make the following observations:

  • We wish it to be established that even though the existing workshops are being converted to residential, the site has a long established employment component and any future development should be limited to commercial and should retain the original amount of employment.

154, Stoke Newington High St, N16 (Rear extension etc to provide 4 flats) – 2016/0284 (Nick Bovaird)

We have no objections to the proposals, but make the following observation:

  • The interior plans are so complicated and difficult to decipher that we wish to emphasise that there should be no alteration to the High Street frontage.

Wilmer Place, N16 (Change of use 7 units to provide 3 flats) – 2016/1284 (Nick Bovaird)

We have no objections to the proposal, but make the following observation:

  • We are concerned that the quality of the accommodation is not acceptable.

27, Digby Crescent, N4 (Rear roof extension + terrace) – 2016/1171 (Nick Bovaird)

We do not believe it appropriate to comment on this as the Myddleton Grove development has vitiated the Conservation Area designation.

254, Albion Road, N16 (Roof terrace) – 2016/1346 (Nick Bovaird)

We object to the proposal for the following reason:

  • We object to the erection of a glass balustrade in the Conservation Area as it is incongruous.

117-119, Stoke Newington Church St, N16 (First floor extension to provide a 1-bed dwelling) – 2016/1453 and 1476 (Nick Bovaird)

We object to the proposal for the following reason:

  • The principle is not objected to. However, the impact of the different brickwork and the lack of space around the doors is unacceptable without some way of making the Marton Road wall frontage uniform.

186, Stoke Newington High St, N16 (Change of use from Dentist to residential) – 2016/1465 (Tim Wild)

We have no objections to the proposals.

38, Gloucester Drive, N4 (Basement excavation + lightwells) – 2015/4335 (Louise Smith)

We do not believe it appropriate to comment on this as the Myddleton Grove development has vitiated the Conservation Area designation.
